iRegatta Cover Screen

Hello,
when I'am switching between different application (i. e. iNAVX and iRegatta), always the yellow iRegatta Cover screen appears for a moment.

Hi Michael.

Yes. iRegatta shuts down when shifting to another app. This is to make sure you iRegatta is not draining you battery when in the background.

Hi Thomas,
maybe it's posssibe to implement the "Shut Down" while shifting apps as option in the setup menu.

Hi Michael.

A "keep alive" feature has been requested by others as well, and some day when I find the time I'll take a look at it. Can't guarantee you when that'll be.

Yes, I would also vote for this improvement in a future release.

A question though . . . when I do switch apps on the iPad and then come back to iRegatta, I've lost the network connection. And I don't know how to reestablish it. Eventually or occasionally, it does reconnect but I don't know if it's because of something I do or if it just takes time. How can I understand what iRegatta is doing behind the scenes to reconnect.

If it helps, I'm running NavMonPC on a PC with NMEA input from Nexus instruments. NavMonPC is also setup as a network server. Looking at the monitor, it appears this is all running fine. Then I've setup an ad hoc network on my Windows Mobile 6.5 cell phone running WMWifiRouter. The iPad connects to this easily. (I've had the same experience using a dedicated ad hoc network on the PC without the cell phone but the phone gives internet access, also.)

Hi Walker.ed

The thing with an Ad Hoc network is, that only one can connect at the time. If you switch to another app that also uses the Ad Hoc connection, and it doesn't release it again, iRegatta can't connect.
So I would suggest that you try to kill whatever app you've used before returning to iRegatta (double click on the home button), and let me know if that does the trick.
